UV Visible Spectrophotometers

Spectrophotometer Not Working? Start Here

The instrument fails its self-test or energy check

Nine times out of ten this is a lamp, detector or board subsystem — not a dead instrument. We repair Shimadzu UV-1900/UV-1800, PerkinElmer Lambda, Agilent Cary, Systronics, Elico and Hitachi units at component level, including several declared beyond repair elsewhere.

D2 lamp error, or lamp energy low

Deuterium and tungsten lamps age predictably. We supply and fit compatible lamps, align them, and verify lamp energy and baseline flatness on your instrument — a same-day quote after a free call.

Baseline noise or drifting absorbance

Usually contaminated optics or a failing detector supply. Optical cleaning and alignment restores most instruments without any parts.

Wavelength accuracy failing USP/EP checks

After every service we verify wavelength and photometric accuracy against traceable reference standards and issue a calibration certificate your QA file can carry into an audit.

We had a Shimadzu UV-1900i UV-Vis spectrophotometer that was not powering on due to rodent damage. We entrusted the instrument to Instruments Care for servicing. After carrying out a thorough inspection at multiple levels, the Instruments Care team successfully revived the instrument by performing remarkable component-level repairs in a highly cost-effective manner. They clearly explained the root cause of the failure and the complete process involved in restoring the instrument from a non-functional condition. We are highly satisfied with the quality and effectiveness of their service. Although this was our first business relationship with Instruments Care, their technical expertise, professionalism, and in-depth knowledge of the Shimadzu UV-1900i impressed us greatly. We appreciate the continuous support provided by the Instruments Care team and confidently recommend them for the service and repair of analytical instruments.
